New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Jets and wide receiver Laveranues Coles have reportedly agreed to terms of a contract extension.

The New York Post reported Friday that Coles had two or three years added to his existing pact, which had two years remaining.

Coles was New York's second-leading receiver last season with 55 catches for 646 yards and led the team with six touchdown receptions.

The 30-year-old veteran from Florida State has spent six of his eight NFL seasons with the Jets, who made him a third-round pick in the 2000 draft. He played three seasons with New York, then spent two years with Washington after signing as a free agent before rejoining the Jets in a trade before the 2005 campaign.

Voted the team's MVP in 2006, Coles has 561 career receptions for 7,245 yards with 37 touchdowns.
