No matter what your favorite sport is New York has you covered. Some of the sports have you covered for double the fun. The Yankees and Mets are currently delighting their fans. Yankee fans can revel in the fact That the Yankees most likely will be in the playoffs again.

Starting up on the gridiron are the Giants and the Jets. After the first game Jets fans are happy, Giants fans are not so happy. The season is young though and I’m sure you have heard of “on any given Sunday. So for all you football fans, no need to panic yet.

If the basketball season commences, the Knicks will entertain you as they run and shoot, up and down the hardwood floor. With the additions of Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, most would think the Knicks should make it to the playoffs.

When the Rangers hit Madison Square Garden they are hoping that hot play will melt the ice. The Rangers hope to continue their winning ways and advance to the playoff rounds once again. On September 23, 2011, the Islanders hope to turn up the heat with their first preseason game against the Bruins. They hope to skate their way into the playoffs this year along with the Rangers. So relax, chill and take in a hockey game.

If you love sports, you have to live in New York. No other city takes professional sports as seriously as the Big Apple. Whether it-s Mike & Mike on the fan or the crazy crowds at Yankee Stadium, there-s a certain energy about New York sports that can-t be matched elsewhere. As far as successful sport franchises, New York has plenty of them. The Yankees are easily the most successful. The Giants would have to be second considering they have three Super Bowl wins under their belt. The full explanation can be found at http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/09/16/former-jet-john-schmitt-set-to-get-back-lost-super-bowl-ring/ After that, it-s a toss-up. The Mets and Knicks are constantly battling to build superstar teams, but they usually fall short. Don-t even get me started with the hockey. That has been and will continue to be a disaster for a while.

The most interesting story in New York sports right now is the Jets. The Yankees will make the playoffs, but that-s not that interesting because that-s the case every year. The Jets, on the other hand, are still on the hunt for that elusive Super Bowl ring. They haven-t won one since 1969. Adding Plexico Burress might have increased their odds of winning. The defense is already strong. Now all they need is for Sanchez to prove he can carry the team when needed.

It’s that time of year again: Giants season! If you’re a NY fan you’ve got to plan the best football party of the year and why wouldn’t you? Your hometown team is going to make it to the Superbowl this year, right? RIGHT?
Get Satellite: Any true Giants fan has http://www.direct.tv satellite to ensure they get all the biggest (and smallest) games. If you want to host a party you’ve got to get the NFL Redzone channel anyway so your friends will stick around.
Get Food: The key to any successful Giants party is the food because everyone knows New York fans like to eat. Grab some carry out at Katz’s or get some hot dogs at Gray’s Papaya but whatever you do, make sure it’s totally authentic and NY style.
Send the Invites: Plan ahead if you’re going to host a shindig since there are bound to be conflicts. Choose a Friday night game if it makes more sense but whatever you do, don’t forget to tell everyone at least two weeks ahead of time.

Yankee Stadium is the place NY sports call home. Derek Jeter is two hits shy of the 3000 mark after doubling in the first inning of last night’s game. The Yankees continue a four games series against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight. J. Hellickson (8-7, 3.21) of the Rays will be opposed by Freddy Garcia (7-6, 3.13) of the Yankees. The Rays knocked the Yankees out of first place last night in a 5-1 win. Mark Teixeira is the major offensive threat for the Yankees with 25 HRs and 65 RBIs. Curtis Granderson has also been on a tear with 25 home runs to accompany his stellar defense in center field. The Yankees are leading the majors in home runs and are living up to their “Bronx Bomber” nickname.

The NY Mets failed to win last nights game against the Dodgers and are now only two games over .500 on the season. The Mets continue their west coast swing with a game tonight against the Giants. The Mets send R.A. Dickey (4-7, 3.68) to the mound to oppose R. Vogelsong (6-1, 2.13) of the west division leading Giants. The Mets are without star shortstop Jose Reyes who remains on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees is three hits from the 3000 carreer mark. He will become the first Yankee to accomplish this feat. Jeter has the Yankee records for stolen bases, hits, games played and is in the top three in a number of offensive categories. Derek contributes his time and money to a number of worthy charities. He is a true professional and maintains a sterling reputation both on and off the field. Jeter may reach the 3000 hit plateau at Yankee stadium during the Yankees four game series with the Tampa Bay Rays. The AL East leading Yankees send Roberto Colon (6-3, 2.88 era) to face Jeff Niemann (3-4, 5.05 era) in Thursday night’s opener.

The New York Mets go for a four game sweep tonight at Chavez Ravine. The Mets send Dillon Gee (8-2, 3.47) against major league stikeout leader Clayton Kershaw (8-4, 3.23 era). The Mets are without Jose Reyes. Reyes was placed on the disabled list, retroactive to July 3rd, due to problems with his achilles tendon. If the Mets win tonight, it will be the first time the Mets have swept a four game series at Chavez Ravine in franchise history. The Mets appear to have Francisco Rodriguez on the trading block. They want to free up cash to re-sign Jose Reyes in 2012.

There’s more than meets the eye here. On or around 1932 the Cleveland Indians spent their time playing at the now Cleveland Stadiums. This changed due to the great depression as a lot of players moved to play games at their homes or neighborhoods. The baseball pitch had also been wrongly constructed and was not a very good training ground for baseball players. The currently Cleveland Stadium has been home to both the browns and the Cleveland Indians over the years. People have always called the building of this stadium as a mistake of the times. This is a fact that is worth exploring.
The demolition of this stadium after a row of Court battles opened new wounds that should have been left to heal. This had to happen due to the fact that due to old age, it was becoming risky for both the players and the fans to keep watching games in a stadium of such state. This stadium will go in history as one of the stadiums to have had numerous concerts hosted here and even hosted Hollywood stars while shooting their movies here. Even though it lies in ruins at the deepest end of the sea, it has an incredible story to tell.
